Q: There are so many giving opportunities and I have limited resources. Why is reaching university students so strategic?
A: First, in most nations only a very small percentage are able to obtain a university degree. Therefore, many of these students will become leaders in their nations—in business, education, law, government, media and in the church. These students will shape their nations and the world* in the years to come. Influencing them for Christ could have an exponential ripple effect for the Kingdom.
* The majority of world leaders are university educated.
Second, university students are at the point in their lives when they make decisions that guide them the rest of their lives–“Who will I follow?” “What will I value?” “How will I lead?” We must help them follow the one true Creator and Ruler, value the truth, grace and peace of Christ, and learn to lead from a biblical perspective.
So this is an opportunity to work “smarter, not harder” to take Christ to the nations by leveraging the influence of global higher education.
To equip missional Christian academics to have a redemptive influence among their students, colleagues, universities, and academic disciplines.
Our vision is that one day every university student in the world will have a Christian professor who can help them learn to live and lead as Christ’s followers in their nations, every professor worldwide will have a Christian colleague who shares the light and truth of Christ, every university will have a Christian academic bringing Shalom and seeking the good of the university in Christ’s name, and every academic discipline will have a Christian scholar with a redemptive influence on the ideas of the discipline.
in the Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
in one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
in our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His Personal return in power and glory.
in the Salvation of lost and sinful persons through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
in the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
in the Unity of the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ.
in the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
